The RPM rotates any enclosed experiment ‘randomly’ to minimize the influence of Earth’s gravity, thereby simulating what would be experienced in space. The BioGravity successfully simulate zero gravity, typically referred to as microgravity or in biology, known as gravitational unloading. The newer RPM can additionally simulate partial gravity, which is between 0g and 1g. Uniquely the BioGravity Platform can approach 10-3.

The BioGravity Platform is where the actual random positioning and gravitational unloading takes place. It can host up to 15 variable sample vessels or a 96 well plate on its aluminum platform.
Besides microgravity, it is possible to simulate the gravity of International Space Station, Moon and Mars with the included software, GravityDial. This software controls variable pitch, roll and intensity algorithms. (Some extreme intensities void the purchase warranty and require signoff before the software is unlocked)
This module is designed to be used inside an incubator. The BioGravity Platform is controlled via USB interface screen located on the side of the unit and connects to most standard laptops (not included).
